Q. I have provided fingerprints to other employers or agencies. Is it possible for my new employer or agency to use the results of previously taken prints?
A. No. Per the CA Department of Justice (DOJ), each applicant must be fingerprinted every time he/she applies with another bureau for a license or job. Previous criminal history information provided to an bidder'south current or near recent employer or agency is confidential and cannot be shared with another agency.

Q. What do I need to bring to my fingerprint date?
A. Y'all MUST accept the following:
- Photo ID such as a California driver's license or ID card OR an out-of-state driver'due south license
- Request FOR LIVESCAN SERVICE grade(s)

- There is a $25.00 rolling fee for each fingerprinting appointment.
The SCCOE charges employers and agencies a service (rolling) fee per applicant. However, nearly of our clients including school districts and education employers have previously arranged to pay the service fee through an open billing business relationship. Please check with the employer or agency regarding whatever fees that must be paid at the time of your date.

Q. How do I prepare for my Live Scan appointment?
A. Please ensure your form(s) have been completely filled out before your appointment. Arrive on time for your appointment, bank check in at the fingerprint desk, and present your REQUEST FOR LIVESCAN SERVICE class.
It is most important for your hands to be clean. Practise not employ balm or cream on your hands before your engagement.

Q. How long will it be earlier the employer or agency receives my fingerprint clearance?
A. Upon completion of fingerprinting, your fingerprints are submitted electronically to the Department of Justice/ FBI. Typically, results come up back very quickly; however, we cannot predict any delay. If in that location is a delay, the DOJ allows a resubmission after xxx working days. During peak employment periods (August - October), the clearance may be delayed.
EXTENSIVE DELAYS: Please be aware that your clearance will be extensively delayed (for up to xxx days) for whatever of the following reasons:
- If you have not lived in California for at to the lowest degree one year;
- If your year of birth is prior to 1945, or;
- If you have an abort record.

Q. What should I do if my clearance has been delayed?
A. Please practice not ask nearly clearances for at least 7 days. After seven days, refer questions to your employer or the agency requesting your clearance. Q. What if I cannot go on my fingerprint appointment?
A. If y'all must cancel your appointment, call us, as before long equally possible, at (408) 453-4305. If the LiveScan Technician is serving some other bidder or unavailable, please leave a message. A. If you are returning to the SCCOE Fingerprint LiveScan Unit to be re-printed due to a DOJ or FBI rejection, you must bring a re-create of the rejection detect with yous. If you practice non have a re-create of the rejection notice with you, you will be re-charged the applicable fees. With the copy of the rejection observe, no additional fees volition exist charged.
